661,097. Steam-heated cookers. POWLING, W. T., POWLING, W. T. L. and DAVIES, P. S. May 9,1949 [May 7, 1948], No. 12646/48. Class 28 (i). [Also in Group I] Apparatus for cooking animal food comprises (Fig. 2) a steam boiler 12 capable of withstanding superatmospheric pressure and a fire box 13, and a cooking vessel 21 having a body portion within the boiler so as to be in contact with the water therein but presenting an external surface with filling 23 and emptying 24 means. For agitation of the food during cooking there may be provided within the vessel paddles rotatable on a shaft, or the food may be placed in a foraminous cylinder 47 within the vessel 21 (Fig. 3) and this cylinder rotated about a shaft 42 during the cooking. Some of the steam generated in the vessel during the cooking may be employed for pre-heating a fresh charge. Specification 184,704, [Class 28 (i)], is referred to.
