Abstract

To obtain a product suitable for direct use as a food for animals uncooked whale meat in a subdivided condition is maintained for some time, half an hour or less, at a temperature between 30 and 70 DEG C., and preferably subjected to stirring; aqueous liquid is then removed by pressure or centrifugal treatment and the product further dried. The heating may be performed by adding water, preferably sea water, at a suitable temperature.
