660,680. Apparatus for cleaning watch or other small parts. LANZETTER, S. Feb. 28, 1950 [March 1, 1949], No. 5486/49. Class 139 An apparatus for cleaning watch parts and other small parts of machinery in which the parts are placed in a wire mesh basket mounted on a vertical motor spindle and adapted to be submerged in a jar containink a cleaning liquid is characterized in that the motor spindle is provided with a cam disc or surface secured thereto and adapted to be engage a runner on a horizontal spindle to impart an up and down movement to the basket. The motor B, Fig. 1, vertically slidable on a pillar D, rotates a spindle b on which a wire mesh basket A is mounted. When the basket A is in a jar C of cleaning liquid a sloping disc F adjustably fixed to the spindle b engages a roller e<SP>2</SP> on a horizontal shaft E' supported by the jar lid E so that the basket A is given an up and down movement. In a modification, not shown, the roller e <SP>2</SP> is mounted on a cranked spindle so that its height may be adjusted to vary the setting of the up and down stroke of the basket. The spindle E<SP>1</SP> may be rotated to impart the up and down movement to the basket.
