Abstract
659,860. Kinematograph projectors. WEISSBRODT, J., and BROIDO, J. J. Sept. 9, 1947, No. 4470/50. Convention date, Dec. 31, 1946. Divided out of 659,815. [Class 97 (i)] In a projector of the kind described in the parent Specification, the film is driven intermittently through the film gate by a mechanism which comprises a carriage 65 disposed parallel to the plane of the film and carrying claw pins 67 which extend perpendicular to the carriage. This carriage includes an aperture 83 bounded on one side by a resilient portion 75 having therein an elongated slot 66 through which passes a fixed spindle. Another aperture 84 in the carriage accommodates the usual triangular cam (not shown), which is mounted on the same shaft 26 as the shutter 32, constantly engages hard steel blades 68 and 69 at opposite sides of aperture 84, and serves to reciprocate the claw pins 67 along the film path so as to move the film intermittently through one frame. The projector is characterized in that engagement of the claw pins with the film perforations is effected by two bosses 77 and 77a on the shutter 32. These bosses are concentric with the shutter carrying shaft 26, the middle portion of each boss is of the same constant height and the end portions of each boss are inclined to the plane of the shutter. Once per revolution of the shutter 32, the bosses 77, 77a respectively co-operate with projections 78, 79 on the carriage 65 to move the claw pins 67 into the film perforations against the action of the resilient part 75, which moves the claw pins out of the perforations when the bosses have passed the projections.
