Abstract

659,631. Tank vehicles. THOMPSON BROS. (BILSTON), Ltd., and THOMPSON, H. J. March 1, 1949, No. 5473. [Class 108 (i)] A tank vehicle has the top of tank substantially horizontal whilst the base inclines upwardly from the rear so that the depth of the tank decreases progressively towards the front. The tank is preferably made in two parts of which the upper part is of uniform cross-section whilst the lower part decreases in depth progressively from the rear to the front. The tank is supported at its forward end on a turntable 13 and at its rear end on a semi-trailer 11 a reinforcing partition 17 being provided near the cradle 11.
