Abstract

659,265. Tables. FERGUSON BROS. MANUFACTURING CO. Aug. 10, 1949, No. 20793. Convention date, Oct. 27, 1948. [Class 52 (iii)] A table adjustable in height comprises a table top 1 carried by legs 2 of which the lower portions 5 are rigidly mounted on feet 3 and crossconnected by members 6 while the upper portions 4 are hinged to the lower portions 5 at 7 and are also in sliding co-operation with the table top 1. The upper ends of the leg portions 4 are each provided with a cross bar 9 the ends of which ride in slots 10 formed in dependent members 11 of the top 1. In the elevated position the ends of the cross bar are located in notches 13 at the ends of the slots 10 so preventing undesirable lowering of the table top while in the lowered position the portions 4 lie as shown in Fig. 6 and the table top rests, by means of auxiliary margins or aprons 14, on the top of the lower portions 5 of the legs. The table top may be provided with hinged flaps.
