Abstract

658,646. Wire cutters. WALKER, L. M., (trading as ROLCUT), and GRINLING, P. H. Jan. 13, 1949, No. 918. [Class 30] Wire cutters combined with secateurs or like devices comprise a pair of cutters one being integral with one of the secateur blades and the other being moved to cutting position by the closing of the hand grips of the secateurs. The cutting blade 9 and plain jaw 10 of the secateurs are secured between the sides of U-section members 6, 7 which fit one within the other and are pivoted together at 8. The wire cutting blades comprise a cutting edge on the wall of the notch 11 in the secateur blade 9 and a blade 12 slidable in a slot 13 in the member 6, the blade 12 having attached thereto a pin 15 projecting into an aperture in one side of the member 7. The blade 12 may be of dovetail section and has a cutting edge at right angles or other inclination to the longer edge. The Provisional Specification states that the notch 11 may be replaced by a drilled hole.
