Abstract

Chemical reactions between liquid reactants or reactants p dissolved or dispersed in liquid media which react with the evolution of heat capable of causing secondary reaction, are effected by mixing the reactants in an atomizer and, a fraction of a second after mixing, ejecting the mixture into an inert gaseous medium having a temperature and vapour pressure such as to prevent an increase in temperature of the reactants which would cause secondary reactions. The process may be applicable to the saponification of fats with alkalies.
