[Class 38 (iv)] [Also in Group XL (c)] In e.g. a speed control system wherein an over-riding control is to be provided in accordance with e.g. a certain motor current, the speed error signal is constituted by a D.C. signal which is applied through a resistance to a D.C. amplifier, and the amplifier input is shunted by a rectifier in series with predetermined blocking voltage, and the over-riding voltage in opposition (see Group XL (c)), whereby when the over-riding voltage exceeds the blocking voltage the rectifier conducts and tends to reduce the e.g. speed control signal.
