Abstract
656,797. Screw propellers. OFFICE NATIONAL D'ETUDES ET DE RECHERCHES AERONAUTIQUES. July 19, 1948, No. 19339. Convention date, July 31, 1947. [Class 114] A non-metallic propeller blade 6 is attached to a metallic blade root 2 so as to allow slight radial and axial movements. Sheets of rubber 7 are placed between the blade and the metal plate 4 of the root, being vulcanized to both. Fastenings 8 comprising a bolt 14 held in conical washers in the blade and surrounded by a cylinder 23 secured in the root plate, the intervening space being filled with rubber 15. In a modification the root plate 4 is formed with transverse ribs and with interfitting recesses in the blade, the space between these being filled with rubber.
