Abstract
655,868. Refrigerating. ELECTROLUX, Ltd. Dec. 3, 1948, No. 31340. Convention date, Dec. 15, 1947. [Class 29] In an absorption refrigerating system of the continuous cycle inert gas type comprising a high temperature evaporator 11 and low temperature coil evaporators 15, 17 all connected for series flow of liquid refrigerant, and at different levels inert gas flows from the absorber by a pipe 18 and passes through the evaporators 15, 17 in parallel to a pipe 16 and then flows through the evaporator 11, the inert gas connections to the evaporators 15, 17 lying within the height of the evaporator system. To ensure equal flow of gas through evaporators 15, 17 a throttle member 22 is inserted in the evaporator 15. Alternatively the throttle member may be located in a part 19 of the pipe 18 or in the pipe 16. The inert gas may pass in counterflow to the liquid refrigerant in both the evaporators 15, 17. The throttling of the inert gas flow can be effected by varying the lengths or diameters of the evaporators 15, 17. Specifications 335,199, [Class 29], and 548,856 are referred to.
