Abstract
655,739. Gas filters. VOKES, Ltd. Sept. 28, 1948, No. 25314. [Class 8(ii)] In a dust collector filter bag 1, Fig. 2, supported by an elongated skeleton or foraminous frame 2 and from the outer surface of which deposited dust is shaken by internal beater bars 12, the profile of the bag contacting means, e.g. the frame 2 is similar to that adopted by the bag under internal pressure in excess of the pressure outside. In a modification the bag contacting means comprises hollow pressed beater bars 21, 22, Fig. 3, within a bag 20 supported by a rectangular skeleton frame 23, 24, 25, 26 ; the bars being of curvilinear cross-section and having catenary-like bag contacting sides. Cleaning may be assisted by temporarily arresting or reversing the gas flow through the little bag.
