Abstract
655,066. Washing peas. JONES, T. M. Jan. 30, 1948, No. 2808. [Class 82(ii)] [Also in Groups I and VI] Peas are separated from stones, skins, splits and like foreign matter which will not readily roll down an incline, by delivering the peas and foreign matter in a stream of water to the top of a series of steps d which steps are disposed one above and behind the next step so that the peas roll down the top surfaces of the steps and jump the delivery space f between the steps and are delivered at j whilst the water and the foreign matter pass down the downwardly projecting sides g of the steps and into the delivery space f and leave by the outlet i. The steps may be rotated to vary the angle of the top surface and have unequal sides so that the distance between them may be varied.
