654,969. Bearing mountings. SPINDEL-, MOTORENUND MASCHINENFABRIK AKT.-GES. Feb. 6, 1948, No. 3564. Convention date, Feb. 7, 1947. [Class 12 (i)] Two axially-spaced circumferentially staggered pairs of slots 6, 7 in the jacket 5 by which the head 2 of a spinning or twisting spindle bearing-sleeve 1 is mounted in a housing 4 permits axial and pivotal resilience of the spindle sleeve about the top roller bearing 3. In modifications, the sleeve 1 may be swaged to a separate integral bearing head 2 and jacket 5, and the slots 6, 7 may be cut alternatively in the housing 4. Each axiallyspaced set of slots may comprise two or three slots, and in the former case each slot may extend over more than half the jacket or housing circumference and is axially displaced relative to the other slots of its set.
