[Class 37] [Also in Group XXXVIII] In apparatus for measuring small intervals of time consisting of means for measuring the potential of a condenser C which is charged by a known current during the said interval of time, leakage current in the condenser circuit due to the leakage resistance R1 of the trigger device T is neutralized by the addition of an appropriate current in the opposite direction from an auxiliary supply E2. A balancing resistance R2 is placed in the auxiliary supply circuit, and the condition for no current flow into the condenser from either source is R1/R2=E1/E2, where E1 is the main supply source. The value of E2 is made slightly larger than this to allow for variations in R1. A diode D is placed in the path of the condenser to prevent dissipation of the accumulated potential during charge through the auxiliary circuit when the trigger circuit is re-opened. The charging current is preferably kept constant. Specification 654,675 is referred to.
