[Class 18] Elongated articles of different dimensions such as drills are stored in a case in groups of parallel compartments each group having an end closure in a transverse direction for selective and individual removal or replacement of said articles, the end closures of two or more different groups lying in different directions. The case comprises top and bottom members 2, 3 and an intermediate bottom 1 formed to provide compartments consisting of groups A, B ... of parallel grooves RA, RB ... the open ends of each group of compartments facing different directions. End closures SA, SB ... in the form of slides engage outwardly extending flanges on the top and bottom portions 2, 3 and hold them together.. Apertures OA, OB ... in the respective slides are arranged to correspond to the appropriate compartment for insertion of removal of an article when a pointer such as VA, VB ... indicates the required compartment on a scale on the top or bottom. The pointer also serves to prevent the complete withdrawal of a slide in one direction, movement beyond the closed position in the other direction being prevented by the adjacent slide. A slide SE forming a closure for group of compartments in the lower part of the case overlaps the slide SA and to permit withdrawal or insertion of articles. Slots, (not shown), are formed in the slides SA, SE in alignment with the open ends of the compartments. Oblique slots or windows such as LA, LB are provided in the top and bottom to give visual indication of the articles within. Calibre orifices HA, HB... may also be provided to check the dimensions of objects which have been withdrawn
