Abstract

653,537. Television. ELECTRIC & MUSICAL INDUSTRIES, Ltd. May 20, 1948, No. 13661. [Class 40 (iii)] [Also in Group XL (c)] In a circuit whereby a bias or like control voltage may be varied linearly and at a predetermined rate between predetermined limits, comprising a condenser 5 which can be charged over resistance 7 from alternative sources 11, 12, the rate at which the potential changes may be altered by varying the resistance by means of a switch 15; alternatively the resistance 7 may be made continuously variable. The potential is limited in a positive direction by means of a biassed diode 9, a reversed diode 10 similarly determining the final potential in charging in a negative direction. The arrangement may be used for fading television pictures in and out by control of the amplifier gain. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specifications 639,567 and 654,593.
