Abstract
Solid normally dusting dyestuff components are made dustless by admixture with at least 0.5 per cent of a silicone liquid. Suitable silicones are dimethyl silicone and other lower alkyl silicones, cyclohexyl silicone and benzyl silicone, and preferably the silicone has a viscosity of 1 to 1000 centistokes at 25 DEG C. Examples are given of the admixture of a silicone liquid with the zinc chloride double salt of diazotized 5-nitro-o-anisidine, the zinc chloride double salt of diazotized 2,5-dichloraniline, 4-nitro-p-anisidine diazotized and stabilized with an aryl sulphonic acid, and 5-nitro-o-anisidine diazotized and stabilized with an arylamine. Other compounds which may be stabilized are resorcinol, salicylic acid, b - naphthol, b - naphthol - 3,6 - disulphonic acid, dihydrothio - p - toluidine, b - naphthylamine, b - naphthylamine - 3,6 - disulphonic acid, and the Naphthol AS components.ALSO:Solid normally dusting powdered organic colour compounds are made dustless by admixing therewith at least 0.5 per cent of a stable silicone liquid. Suitable silicone liquids are dimethyl silicone and other lower alkyl silicones, cyclohexyl silicone and benzyl silicone, and preferably the silicone has a viscosity of 1 to 1000 centistokes at 25 DEG C. Examples are given of the addition of a silicone liquid to an azoic dye mixture of Naphthol AS-G and a diazo-imino derivative of 5-chloro-o-anisidine, and to an azo dyestuff prepared from diazotized p-nitroaniline and dihydroxyethyl-m-toluidine.ALSO:Solid normally dusting pigments are made dustless by admixture with at least 0.5 per cent of a stable silicone liquid. Suitable silicones are dimethyl silicone and other lower alkyl silicones, cyclohexyl silicone and benzyl silicone, and preferably the silicone has a viscosity of 1 to 1000 centistokes at 25 DEG C.
