Abstract

A pest control compound is prepared by reacting at least one halogenated mono-hydroxy-benzene having halogen as the sole additional substituent on the ring, with at least one aliphatic primary unsubstituted amine having an alkyl chain length of 6 to 18 carbon atoms. Specified halogeno-phenols are pentachlorphenol, 2,4,5-trichlorphenol, and 2,3,4,6-tetra-chlorphenol. Specified amines are dodecylamine, "coconut" amine, and "octadecenylamine," a commercial product containing octadecenyl and octadecadienyl amines. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 comprises also the employment of 2-chloro- or 2-bromo-4-phenylphenol or 2,21-dihydroxy - 5,51 - dichlorodiphenyl methane instead of the above-defined phenols, or octadecyldimethylamine instead of the above-defined amines.
