Abstract

1-Chloro-2,4-dinitro-naphthalene is prepared by treating Martius Yellow or 2,4-dinitro-naphthol with p-toluene-sulphochloride in the presence of dimethyl aniline.ALSO:A fungicidal composition comprises 1-chloro-2,4-dinitro-naphthalene and as a carrier an inert solid diluent, e.g. talc, or an oil emulsion.
