Abstract

652,393. Automatic regulation. MARCONI'S WIRELESS TELEGRAPH CO., Ltd. Jan. 9, 1948, No. 797. [Class 38 (iv)] A voltage stabilizer comprises a cascaded series of circuits, each consisting of a resistor, R1 . . . 4, in series with one or more gas discharge tubes, the input to each successive circuit being the stabilized output of the previous circuit. In a modification, Fig. 3 (not shown), a tapping at each circuit of a 7-stage network provides a range of output voltages; and two of the gas discharge tubes in one circuit are of the type having intermediate electrodes from which the required voltage is tapped.
