Abstract

972,611. Transistor switching circuits. TEXAS INSTRUMENTS Ltd., and D. GRIFFIN. Jan. 20, 1961 [Jan. 20, 1960], No. 2145/60. Heading H3T. A switching circuit' comprising a transistor VT1 with an inductive load, e.g. a relay L, connected in series with its collector is provided with a feedback network R2, C1 connected from the collector electrode to the switch input, the feedback being such that the amplitude of the transient output pulse produced at the termination of an input pulse is less than the collectoremitter breakdown voltage. As shown, Fig. 3, the switching transistor is preceded by an input stage VT2, the emitter of which is connected directly to the base of the switching transistor VT1. In a modification, Fig. 1 (not shown), the input stage is omitted, and the feedback network is connected directly between the base and collector of transistor VT1.
