Abstract

651,764. Showcards. METAL BOX CO., Ltd. June 7, 1948, No. 15347. [Class 3(ii)] A folding display device comprises a dummy object and a base of cardboard or like material, the base having two fold lines 3, 3a and 4, 4a disposed in spaced parallel relation between opposite edges of the base and defining two outer panels 1c, 1d and an intermediate panel, the fold lines being connected by at least one slit 2, normal thereto to divide the intermediate panel into separate panels 1e, 1f, a portion of each fold line being nearer the adjacent edge of the base than portion 3, 4 on the other section of the slit so that when base is bent about the fold lines the panels le, 1f are in spaced planes; the dummy object is divided into a back 7, side 8 and front portion 9 and has a flap 10 to secure the side and back portion together; the back 7 is secured to one of the display panels 1e and the front portion 9 is of greater length than the back, the dummy being arranged so that the device is flat when collapsed, the dummy object being automatically erected when the base is folded about the lines 3, 3a, 4, 4a. A tab 6 cut from the slit 2 locks the device in its erected position. Additional display pieces may be fixed under the dummy. More than one slit may be cut in the intermediate panel and a corresponding number of additional dummy objects provided. A dummy may also be fixed to the panel 1f.
