Abstract
<PICT:0651704/IV (c)/1> An apparatus for preboarding or plasticizing shaped textile articles, more particularly nylon stockings, comprises an endless conveyer 10 carrying forms 10a for the reception of the shaped textile articles and a preboarding or plasticizing chamber 17 through which the forms are passed due to movement of the conveyer, and in which the articles on the forms are subjected to the combined action of steam and infra-red rays emitted by infra-red lamps or suitable elements to preboard or plasticize the same, and is characterised by the provision immediately preceding the preboarding or plasticizing chamber of a separate chamber 30 through which the forms are passed, means may be provided within said chamber for preheating the forms, e.g. by directing heated air and/or steam on to the same, and the articles thereon prior to their entering into the preboarding or plasticizing chamber.
