<PICT:0651580/IV (c)/1> <PICT:0651580/IV (c)/2> A wet processing machine comprises a casing or tank 1 which is divided internally by a partition 2 so as to provide a processing chamber 3, and adjacent this processing chamber a supplementary operating chamber 4 of smaller volume than the processing chamber, said partition being formed to permit forced liquor flow from the supplementary chamber into the processing chamber and back again, means 6 for applying a gas pressure to the surface of the liquor in the supplementary chamber to effect such forced displacement of the liquor, and means for exhausting gas pressure so produced in the supplementary chamber, thereby permitting the aforesaid return flow.
