Abstract
651,402. Kinematograph projectors. GRAS, A. L. Aug. 15, 1947, No. 22683. Convention date, July 9, 1946. [Class 97 (i)] In a continuous feed projector having at least one oscillating reflecting surface for optical compensation the oscillation is effected by a cam and a lever in direct contact with the cam surface and pivoted about the oscillating axis of the reflecting surface, said lever in one position lying tangential to the cam and parallel to the axis of that lens of the lens components constituting the projection objective through which light enters. As shown, the compensating prism 7 is inserted, with a fixed prism 6, in the housing 2 between the projection lens elements 3, 4. The prism 7 is actuated by a lever 9 held, by a spring 11, in contact with a cam 12 driven off the gear train driving the film sprocket 15 and the shutter shaft 23. The shutter lies behind the projection aperture 1 and has a spiral slot which allows illumination of only one frame at a time. Frusto-conical and cylindrical shutters may also be used. Both prisms 6 and 7 may oscillate, being driven from levers engaging the cam 12 at diametrically opposite points. The film driving sprocket may be driven through worm gearing, the worm being axially adjustable for framing purposes. The prism 6 may be outside the objective lens housing with the lens 4 between the two prisms with its axis vertical.
