Abstract
575,911. Stereoscopic kinematograph cameras. WRIGHT, E. B. April 17, 1944, No. 7109. [Class 97 (i)] In a stereoscopic kinematograph camera, one eye-view image, reflected transversely to the axis of the lens, is reflected into the lens by means synchronized with the picture shift to move in and out of the reflecting position and allow the other eye-view image to pass directly into the lens when out of the reflecting position. In the camera shown, a semicircular mirror, mounted in a circular frame 21, is rotated about the centre of its base, in synchronism with the picture shift, by gears connecting the mirror shaft 16 to the camera shaft 32. A mirror 35 is mounted on a frame 36, which may be given angular and transverse adjustments by means of screws operable by knurled heads 43 and 51. The left eye-view image (looking from the camera 10) is formed by light passing into the lens 52 directly through the open half of the frame carrying the semicircular mirror. When the mirror comes into the reflecting position, the right eye-view image is formed by light which it receives from the mirror 35 and which it reflects into the lens. The mirror and camera shafts may alternatively be driven by separate synchronous motors. The rotary mirror may be replaced by a reciprocating mirror or totally reflecting prism.
