Kinematograph apparatus; optical systems.-A stereoscopic kinematograph camera comprises a pair of parallel objectives, a pair of fixed prisms or reflectors, and one or more movable prisms or reflectors by which the images from the two objectives are alternately reflected on to the sensitive film. As shown in Figs. 2 and 3, fixed prisms B1, B2 are arranged behind objectives, and a prism C in a frame 2 which may be rocked on pivot pins 4, in synchronism with the film movement, is provided between them. The frame 2 has a two-ridged cam, and a projection 14 on an axially sliding rod 12 engages between the ridges so as to rock the prism as the rod is moved. The prism C is held in the position shown, or facing the prism B2, by means of a cam 6 engaged by a spring-pressed roller 9 and stops 5 engaging adjustable screws 7. In a modification, Fig. 7, two prisms C1, C2 are provided between the prisms B1, B2, and are moved vertically so as to reflect alternately from the prisms B1, B2. The vertical movement may be effected by a cam 18, through a two-armed lever 20 engaging a push piece 24 at the bottom of a rod 25 attached to a slide 26. In a further modification, Figs. 9 and 10, double-reflecting fixed prisms B1, B2 and a double-reflecting sliding prism C are used. Rays from the prisms B1, B2 are alternately reflected by the prism C along a common path R2. The prism C is moved by a lever 35 pivoted at 36 and operated by a horizontally-sliding frame 34 reciprocated by a, cam on a shaft 33. Specification 3552/11 is referred to.
