Abstract
226,405. Cuenin, G. March 5, 1924. Stereoscopic kinematography.-In apparatus for producing stereoscopic images on a single film of ordinary width, in which pictures are taken alternately from two different view points, the rays are directed alternately on to the film, either by means of a reciprocating reflector consisting of two mirrors inclined to each other, or by means of a stationary prism arrangement in conjunction with two rotary shutters. In Fig. 1 the rays R<1>, R<2> are received by fixed mirrors M<1>, M<2> which direct them towards the reciprocating reflector m<1>, m<2> by which they are alternately reflected so as to pass through the objective 0 on to the film F. The objective O may be replaced by two objectives situated between the mirrors M<1>, M<2> and the reflector m<1>, m<2>. In Fig. 4 the rays from the fixed reflectors P<1>, P<2> are received by a prism system consisting of two right-angled prisms Q<1>, Q<2> separated by a partly silvered surface. Shutters V<1>, V<2> are provided to allow the rays from the reflectors P<1>, P<2> to pass alternately to the prism system.
