Abstract

597,269. Kinematograph cameras. VINTEN, C. Jan. 2, 1946, No. 224/45. Convention date, June 16, 1939. [Class 97 (i)] In a kinematograph camera with a reflecting surface on the opaque portion of the shutter to reflect light from the objective .into a viewfinder, the light is reflected in a plane defined by the objective axis and the direction of film movement. As shown, the shutter disc 5 is driven by gearing 13, 14, 15. It has a transparent portion for exposing the film ,3, behind the objective 4. The reflecting surface on the opaque portion reflects the incident light to a prism 9 and thence to the eyepiece 11. A shield 16 fits the eye closely and prevents entry of stray light when view-finder is in use. The shield is carried on a pivoted plate 17 which covers the eyepiece when not in use.
