Abstract

651,008. Gas filters. SYMONS, P. E. April 3, 1948, No. 9426. [Class 8(ii)] An air filter of the kind connected to the air supply lines of pneumatically-operated tools comprises a chamber e.g., bowls 4, 5 mounted either side a body 1, containing a hollow filter screen of wire gauze 14, 15, a hollow filter screen of an air pervious layer of fibrous yarn 22 supported on a framework 21, and means e.g., an inlet 12, whereby the air passes from the outside to the inside of the screen 14, 15 and from the interior to the exterior of the screen 22 to an outlet 23. The gauges 14, 15 are of 240 and 48 meshes per inch, respectively, and the screen 22 is coated with barium chloride to indic a t e moisture. The bowls 4, 5 are of transparent material and the bowl 5 has a drain valve 19. A pressure relief valve is mounted near the inlet 12.
