Abstract

649,683. Mounting electric lamps in lanterns. KEMP, C. H., and LIDDELL, R... Sept. 29, 1948, No. 25372. [Class 75(iv)] A cinematograph projector or like apparatus includes a lamp holder 1 pivotally mounted within a lamp holding compartment 15 independently of the door 6 of the latter wherein opening of the door 6 permits automatic rotation of the holder 1 to move the lamp engaging end thereof towards the door opening. The holder 1 is mounted on pivot pins 3 in a U-shaped member 4 and is biassed towards a tilted position by a tension spring 5, being maintained upright when the door 6 is closed by a leaf spring 7 fixed to the inside of the door. The free end of the leaf spring 7 may be displaced laterally by a screw 9 for lateral adjustment of the lamp filament relatively to the optical system. The lamp may be adjusted vertically by a fingerpiece 13 which is pivoted on a tie bolt 11 and notched to engage a pin 14 projecting from a plate 8 supporting the member 4. The plate 8 has a vertical slot engaging a screw 16 by which it is attached to the rearwall of the compartment 15 and is guided in its vertical movement.
