Abstract
A process for producing an aluminium solder, comprises fusing aluminium or aluminium alloy, fusing silver or silver alloy, mixing the two molten substances, leaving the mixture at least at the melting temperature of the silver, or that of the silver alloy if such is used, allowing the mixture to drop to the melting point of aluminium, or that of the aluminium alloy if such is used, and then slowly cooling the mixture. 70-95 per cent of aluminium or aluminium alloy may be combined with 30-5 per cent of silver or silver alloy. Suitable alloys are of the following composition: Al 79 per cent, Mg 11 per cent, Cu 9.5 per cent, P 0.5 per cent, and Ag 80 per cent, Sn or Zn 20 per cent.
