[Class 131] In a hair clipper a serrated reciprocating blade c is urged towards a serrated stationary blade b mounted in a holder a, by a pressure plate d which is hingedly connected to the holder by a pin e and loaded by springs f. The stationary blade b is adjustable forwardly or rearwardly of the reciprocating blade c, while the clipper is in operation, by the engagement of a toothed rack h with a pinion i mounted on a spindle j rotatably supported by the holder and operated by a thumb-lever k. Graduation of the cut is aided, further, by curving the underside of the holder at m so that a rolling movement may be imparted to the clipper.
