[Class 52(i)] A resilient mounting for chairs comprises a seat 10 having a box-like under portion 11, outer side bars 14 secured to the portion 11, inner connector bars 17 mounted by means of studs 9 on posts 8 carried by the chair base 6 and transverse bars 19 extending from one connector bar to the other and springs 18 connecting each side bar 14 to the adjacent connector bar 17. To adjust the tension of the springs 18 the connector bars 17 may be drawn towards one another by a turnbuckle 21 and connecting wires 20 the apertures for the studs 9 in the connector bars 17 and transverse bars 19 being slotted to permit of this.
