647,992. Berths. RUNDLE, L. A. Nov. 5, 1948, No. 28767. [Class 52 (ii)] A sleeping berth for protection from the weather comprises a berth 4 having rods 14, 14A hinged to a wall &c. bracket 2 and adapted by means of cords 7 and pulleys 8, 9 to be drawn, by the occupant, to horizontal positions at such a height as to leave space beneath for the passage of persons. The berth is provided with a lid 3 hinged to one side of the berth and having a sloping top to facilitate shedding of rain, &c. The lid 3 may be extended to the head end of the berth or a separate face-protector may be provided. Ventilation apertures 17 are provided as are also freely rotatable discs 11 ... 11C to prevent access of rats or other vermin.
