Abstract
A plastic moulding compound for a discharge lamp base comprises a phenol-furfural resin and formaldehyde, together with dibutyl phthalate (as plasticizer), hexamethylene tetramine (as lubricant), benzoyl peroxide (as accelerator) and wood flour (as filler). A predetermined proportion of powdered metal or carbon may be included to render the material semi-conducting.
