Abstract

647,390. Vehicle hoods. CARBODIES, Ltd. Oct. 25, 1948, Nos. 27654/48 and 24237/49. [Class 108(i)] The U-shaped hood-receiving well of a motor-car body is covered by a rigid flap 21, Fig. 2, pivoted at 22 to the seat back 12, the flap serving as a shelf when the hood is erected. The rigid flap 21a, Fig. 4, has press-fastener elements 26 for alternative engagement with complementary elements 27, 29 when the head is erected or with elements 28, 30 when the head is stowed. Separate detachable side flaps 23 held in position by pressfastener devices 24 and by the latch means described in Specification 617,385.
