646,897. Casting composite articles. CRITTALL-LUXFER ALUMINIUM WINDOWS, Ltd., and BATES, R. E. July 26, 1948, Nos. 19962 and 19963. Class 83 (i)] A tubular metal frame of a window, door or the like is provided with a part of a normally required fitting such as a hinge, handle or the like by casting metal through one or more holes into the interior of the frame and also externally of the frame. In one form, two mitred frame parts 1, 2 are placed together, plugs 8 are inserted and the right-angled space between the plugs is filled with molten metal through holes 6, the casting also extending externally to form a hinge projection 7. In another form, an external part 11 of a handle plate is cast on a straight section 10 of frame together with an internal section formed between the plugs 8.
