Abstract
1,101,862. Doors. M. GRIDAINE. 10, Feb., 1965 [12, Feb., 1964], No. 5756/65. Heading E1J. A door structure comprises two upright sections 1, 2 of identical and symmetrical form provided with fixing lugs 4 for fixing in a building opening and two jambs 5, 6 of wood or metal removably secured as by screws 8 nuts 13 in a groove 11 in a respective upright 1, 2 and a door panel 9 which is hung from one jamb by hinges 18. So as to be alternatively mounted the lock and latch mechanism being flush mounted in the panel 9 The lugs 4 may be joined vertically by tubular elements 25 which are extended to fix the uprights in floor and ceiling (Fig. 9) and accommodate electrical array, e.g. to an electrical door locking switch 26. The cross member 7 which may or may not be rabbeted of the door frame formed with the jambs 5, 6 is secured to a lintel 3 having the same cross-section as the uprights 1, 2. Spacer blocks 16 are arranged between the uprights 1, 2 and jambs 5, 6 between the lintel 3 and cross-member 7 for adjustment of the door frame 5, 6, 7. The jambs 5, 6 are secured to the cross member 7 by dowel and bore connections (15, 16 Fig. 6).
