Abstract
645,705. Reservoir pens. CIA URUGUAYA DE FOMENTO INDUSTRIAL SOC. ANON. Sept. 9, 1947, No. 24786. [Class 146 (iii)] The barrel 1 of a ball-point pen is divided by a partition 10 into a compartment 2 for ink and a compartment 3 communicating therewith by an orifice 11, the compartment 3 containing a flexible member 12 exposed to atmospheric pressure and isolating the ink from atmosphere. The: orifice 11 is of such a size that while if does not permit of ink leakage, the capillary forces set up therein are not greater than those in the ball gap. A sac made of limp material impervious to ink or air is employed for a member 12 and may be fixed with its open end either adjacent to the partition 10 as shown or adjacent to the air vent 5.
