Abstract
645,630. Rectifying. WESTINGHOUSE BRAKE & SIGNAL CO., Ltd., WALKER, A. H. B., and PETER, L. H. April 14, 1948, No. 10324. Addition to 640,675. [Class 38 (ii)] The high voltage unidirectional current apparatus described and claimed in the parent Specification has the condenser connecting the centre tap 22 of the A.C. supply to the high voltage terminal 26 at the end of the rectifier chain furthest from the supply divided into a number of series-connected condensers 28, 29, 30, the points of series connection being connected to mid-points 27 of the rectifiers in the chain. The regulation of the apparatus is thus improved. Alternatively only alternate rectifiers in the chain may have the mid-points connected to the series-connected condensers.
