Abstract

644,706. Bottling. U.D. ENGINEERING CO., Ltd., and TAYLOR, J. C. Oct. 3, 1947, No. 26721. [Class 125(ii)] In a machine for successively filling a number of bottles 39 from a rotating reservoir 10 with which the bottle support rotates synchronously, each of a corresponding number of rollers 23 moves on and along and then off a fixed cam member 24 to reciprocate a spring- loaded hollow plunger 17 which raises and lowers a boss 27 thus contracting and extending a waisted rubber sleeve 30 secured to the boss and an outlet pipe 13, and to .cause the port 33 of a resilient valve member 12 to close, and then, to open as the member engages a bottle rim. An air tube 35 extends from the valve head 34 into the reservoir. The outlet conduit may be in the form of a telescopic tube.
