[Class 99(i)] A supply pipe 53 extending into a rotary steam-heated cylinder has one end supported in an opening 54 of the wall 42a of a joint attachment 40 comprising a steam supply chamber 42 separated by a partition 41 from a condensate receiving chamber 43, and a syphon pipe 56 passing- through and extending beyond the ends of pipe 53 has supporting lugs 71 which are clamped against the delivery end and adjacent inner surface of pipe 53 when longitudinal movement of pipe 56 is effected by adjusting means supporting the pipe 56 in an opening 58 of the partition and aligned with opening 54. The adjusting means may comprise a sleeve 57 secured to pipe 56 and slidably adjusted by a nut 60 screwed on to the sleeve, the latter being provided with slots 62 engaged by lugs 63 of a rotatably adjustable plate 64. The attachment may be releasably secured to a housing 10 in which is journalled a tubular member 7 attached to a journal 5 of the cylinder, Figs. 1, 3. Also, the lugs 71 may carry a ring-shaped memžer shiftable into engagement with the end of pipe 53, Fig. 5, (not shown), and the condensate may return through member 7, the end of the supply pipe 82 being supported in an opening 83 of partition 78, Fig. 7.
