[Class 87 (ii)] [Also in Group X] A collapsable core comprises alternate, flexible, arcuate members x and straight member MP. The members are connected together by passing links lc through flanges f on the members. The links are connected to a central bar B. To collapse the core, the bar B is raised, causing the flexible members to be drawn inwards, as shown in the right-hand part of the Figure.
