Abstract

641,315. Disconnectible couplings M. L. AVIATION CO., Ltd., and LOBELLE, M. J. O. April 5, 1948, No. 9494. [Class 99(i)] In a coupling for hoses terminating in complementary annular parts connected by two: or more pivoted hooks 22 on one part engaging a peripheral step 21 on the other part, each hook is coupled to a spring- loaded lever 29 having a tail portion 32 which must be turned outwardly against the spring-loading to permit uncoupling of the parts: As shown, two hoses having relatively-displaced internal and external reinforcements are each fitted to an adapter ring 8, 15, the reinforcement being removed as necessary and the exposed hose bound to the adapter by wire 10. A sleeve 17 having a projection 20 is riveted to the adapter 15, and a ring 11, having a flange 13 thereon to form a socket for a sealing ring 14 and the projection 20, is riveted to the adapter 8. Each hook and lever are retained within a housing 23 and are pivoted intermediately of their lengths, whilst their adjoining ends are pivoted together.
