Abstract

641,307. Attaching handles to knives. THACKRAY, Ltd., C. F., and HALLAM, A. B. March 2, 1948, No. 6551. [Class 61(i)] [Also in Group VI] A skin-grafting instrument comprises a holder, including a rod, a blade carrier, having a tubular part for location of said rod and cheek plates integral with said tubular part for the reception and support of a thin flexible blade, and end retaining means co-operating with said blade carried to maintain the blade fixedly in position in relation to the said holder. As shown, a blade carrier 9 having a tubular portion 10 is mounted on a rod 2 secured to a handle 1 and is retained in position by means of forked members 12 and locking nut 7. The lower end of each member 12 is embraced by a further forked member 15, a guide roller 11 passing through the members 12 and 15. Adjusting screws 16 connect the members 12 and 15 and serve to adjust the relative positions of the roller and the knife blade.
