[Class 12 (i)] In a bearing block of the kind described in the parent Specification, the resilient bushing is lined internally with a rigid material 20 and is wholly or partly encased as regards its outer surface by means of a separate rigid casing 7 which is shaped exteriorly to fit the accommodating annular and part-spherical recess 2 in the bearing housing 1. The casing 7 and lining 20 may each be split into two half parts across a diametrical plane or a plane at right angles thereto, and may be permanently bonded to the resilient bushing. For assembly, the bushing members 4, 5, Fig. 1, have outwardly-extending bosses 11 which are arranged to engage in recesses 12 provided in the housing 1. The bushings are then turned through 90 degrees into the plane of the housing 1. The depth of the groove 14 in the half bushing 4, Fig. 2, is less than that in the half bushing 5 so that the axis 15 of the shaft is eccentric to the centre line 16 of the bearing housing. One half bushing may be made of harder rubber or like material than the other. The outer casings 7a, Fig. 3, may have inwardly-directed annular lips 17 and may be axially spaced by an element 21 disposed in the periphery of the bushing 19. The bushings and casings 7 may be self-aligning within the housing, or may be located therein by axial bolts and side-plates, radial studs, or circlips. In a modification, Fig. 8, the bearing housing is in two halves 28, 29 bolted together, and inwardly-directed annular flanges 31 carry adjustable studs 32 which bear on the sides of casings 7 for axially compressing the resilient bushings. Pressure rings disposed in the members 7 may be provided. The application to a light railway truck axle is described.
