Abstract

640,560. Agricultural implements. MORRISON, J., and BARCLAY, ROSS, & HUTCHISON, Ltd. June 21, 1948, No. 16636. [Class 6(i)] The stem 1 of a ridging plough is pivoted at 4 on the plough frame 2 and is releasably held in operative position by a catch 9 pivoted to swing horizontally on a lower member 6 of the plough frame. The catch, Fig. 3, is pivoted on a vertical pin 10 and has a face 9c which normally engages a roller 11 mounted on a retaining arm 12. If the plough strikes an obstruction, the catch yields and swings on the pin 10 until a concave face 9d engages the roller 11 against the action of a spring 14, the catch remaining thus until the stem 1 is returned to the working position.
