Abstract

639,538. Extrusion machines. SOC. PER AZIONI LAVORAZIONE MATERIE PLASTICHE. May 2, 1946, No. 13334. Convention date, Dec. 9, 1943. [Class 87 (ii)] [Also in Group XXVIII] A reinforced thermoplastic tube is formed by feeding a helical wire coil 6 through a vertical annular passage 3 in the top of a casing 1, the passage being in line with the outlet from an extrusion chamber 4 to which the plastic material is supplied at 5, and being formed by a central rod 2 which is reduced in diameter within the chamber 4. Longitudinal reinforcing wires 8 are fed through bores 7. in the casing around the passage or through bores in the larger section of the rod. The plastic material may be supplied to an annular chamber 9, Fig. 3, communicating through the wall 11 with the chamber 4 by a series of holes increasing progressively in size from the point 10 by the inlet to the opposite point 101.
